Introduction
Life Safe (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the Life Safe CPR Coach mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our app.
Medical Disclaimer
Life Safe CPR Coach is an educational tool intended for CPR practice and muscle memory training. It is not a medical device, is not intended for use in real-life medical emergencies, and does not provide clinical diagnosis or treatment.
Information We Collect
Camera Data: The app requires access to your device’s camera to track hand positioning during CPR training. Camera data is processed entirely on your device in real-time. We do not record, store, or transmit any camera footage or images.
Session Performance Data: To provide accurate scoring, performance metrics (rate, depth, recoil, and timing, and scores) are processed when you complete a training session. If you are signed in, this fitness data is synced to your account via Google Firebase to allow you to track your training progress across devices. We do not share or sell this fitness data to third parties or advertisers.
Analytics: We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymized usage data such as session frequency, feature usage, and app performance. This helps us improve the app experience. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics.
Authentication: If you choose to create an account, we collect your email address for authentication purposes and to sync your training history across devices.
Health & Fitness: The app collects and processes Activity and Fitness data, specifically physical movement metrics during CPR practice, to provide real-time coaching.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to provide and improve CPR training functionality, calculate and display your performance scores, maintain session history and progress tracking on your device, generate anonymized analytics to improve the app, and communicate with you if you contact us for support.
Public Leaderboard and Data Sharing
If you choose to sign in and participate in training sessions, your Full Name (as provided by your login provider) and your CPR performance scores will be displayed on our public Top 20 Leaderboard. This information is visible to all other users of the Life Safe CPR Coach app. You can opt out of this sharing by choosing to use the app in “Guest Mode” without signing in.
Data Storage and Security
Camera data never leaves your device. Session data is stored locally on your device and optionally on Firebase cloud services secured with industry-standard encryption. We use server-side score processing with rate limiting and access controls to protect our systems.
Third-Party Services
The app uses Google Firebase for analytics, authentication, and data storage. These services are governed by Google’s Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy. We use MediaPipe, a Google framework, for on-device hand tracking. All MediaPipe processing occurs locally on your device.
Children’s Privacy
The app is intended for general audiences learning CPR. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
Data Retention and Deletion
Session history is stored locally on your device and can be cleared at any time by clearing the app’s data or uninstalling it. If you have a registered account, you may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time via our web request form at https://lifesafe.ca/delete-data or by emailing cprlifesafe@gmail.com..
Your Rights
You may access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You may opt out of analytics by disabling data collection in your device settings. You may uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy within the app and updating the “Last Updated” date.
